Lake Oswego is in Clackamas County, and I love getting outside here. George Rogers Park is a good place to start. It has a playground, ball fields, tennis courts and restrooms, so you can come for a game or simply enjoy the outdoors. West Waluga Park has a dog park, fitness stations, picnic shelters, a playground and restrooms. I like how many ways it offers to spend an afternoon.
For a walk, I head to the Iron Mountain Trail. When I would rather be indoors, I go to the Lake Oswego Public Library. Both are in town, so I fit them in around the parks, depending on the day.

Property taxes
From Property Tax Compare, worked out from the counties’ own records for tax year 2025-26.
A typical $600,000 home in Lake Oswego pays about $6,050 a year in property taxes; most homes there, $5,500 to $6,600. A new home at that price starts at about $6,200 a year once fully taxed. Homes here are taxed at about 52% of their market value.
Estimates, not a tax bill or tax advice. A listing shows a particular home’s current bill, and in Oregon that bill stays with the house when it is sold.
